MILO Summer Competition

By participating in this competition, entrants agree to the rules set out below.

  1. This competition is open to all legal residents and/or legal citizens of South Africa in possession of a valid identity document and who are over the age of 18 years. In addition, the following people shall not be eligible to participate in this competition:

    1. Directors, members, partners, promotional and advertising agents, merchandisers, employees or consultants of Nestlé (South Africa) Proprietary Limited (“Nestlé”) and the organisers of the Competition.
    2. People who are not legal residents and/or legal citizens of the Republic of South Africa.
    3. Spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate of any of the persons specified in 1.1 above.
    4. Persons under the age of 18 years.
  2. The competition shall commence on 2 October 2017 and will end on 15 December 2017. No entries received after 15 December 2017 will be considered.
  3. Only one prize will be awarded per household.
  4. Mechanics:

    To participate in this competition, entrants may enter the competition in 1 of the following 3 ways:

    1. Retailer Mechanic:

      • Participants are required to purchase any MILO 125g, 250g, 500g or 1kg to enter the competition and stand a chance to win an FC Barcelona branded soccer ball.
      • Participants are required to dial *120*6456# and follow the prompts to enter. USSD Costs 20c/20sec (free minutes do not apply).
      • Each participant must enter on a phone that is owned and registered to that person. No person can use another person’s phone for competition entry purposes. If it is discovered that a participant has entered on a phone that is not registered to them they will be disqualified.
      • The cell phone number is key to entries. If the participant has won on a particular cell phone number, then they cannot use another number in order to be contacted further. The number with which each participant enters the competition needs to be a number that is contactable during office hours.
    2. In-store promoter mechanic:

      • The in-store promotional activations will occur over 4 weekends (mid-month and month-end October, and mid-month and month-end November as detailed below).
      • The in-store activations will occur in MILO’s top 50 stores (specifically Shoprite and Checkers stores) across KZN and Gauteng respectively. There are 25 participating Shoprite stores and 25 participating Checkers stores in total.
      • The first set of activations will occur in KZN over the weekend of the 13th and 14th of October 2017 and again over the weekend of the 27th and 28th of October 2017. The second set of activations will occur in Gauteng over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of November 2017 and again over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of November 2017.
      • To enter the competition during the in-store promotional activations on the dates specified above, participants are required to purchase MILO 125g, 250g, 500g or 1kg at the relevant participating store to get a chance to spin the prize generator in order to stand a chance of winning an FC Barcelona branded soccer ball.
      • Participants will get 1 chance per purchase to spin the prize generator and will be required to provide proof of purchase before being allowed to spin the prize generator.
    3. Digital mechanic:

      • Participants will be required to upload a video of their “young champion” to the MILO Facebook page, attempting the FC Barcelona skills and drills learnt through the content that will be uploaded on social media during the promotional period.
  5. The Prizes:

    Participants in this competition stand a chance to win:

    1. Daily Prizes:

      There will be 800 winners in total for the duration of competition period (for the first 20 days there will be 14 winners drawn per day and thereafter 13 winners will be drawn per day for the duration of the competition period). Winners will be selected through a daily random draw. Each daily prize winner will win a FC Barcelona branded Football.
    2. In store Prizes:

      • There will be 1 100 winners in total (over the 4 weekends in which the in-store activations will take place).
      • The prize generator software will randomly generate the winners, based on the allocation of prizes per store.
      • Each participant will stand a chance to win an FC Barcelona branded Football.
    3. Digital Prizes:

      • There will be 100 winners in total (campaign duration a total of 20 days there will be 5 winners drawn per day) for the duration of competition period. Winners will be selected through a daily random draw.
  6. How to claim your prize if you are one of the winning participants:

    1. Daily Prize Winners:

      The winner will be notified telephonically where the winner will be required to provide their name, physical address, copy of their identity document/valid passport, and till slip as proof of purchase. Nestlé (or its agent) will endeavour to contact the prize winner once every day for 3 consecutive working days after their name is drawn. Each prize will be sent to the relevant winner via courier and delivery will take place between 1-2 weeks of completion of the verification process depending on the winner’s location. If a prize winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected in accordance with the rules.
    2. In store Prize Winners:

      Winners will receive their prizes immediately on the spot if they win.
    3. Digital Prize Winners:

      The winners will be notified via private message where the winner will be required to provide their name, physical address, copy of their identity document/valid passport. Nestlé (or its agent) will endeavour to contact the prize Winner once every day for 3 consecutive working days after their name is drawn. Each prize will be sent to the relevant winner via courier and delivery will take place between 1-2 weeks of completion of the verification process depending on the winner’s location. If a prize winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected in accordance with the rules.
  7. General

    1. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
    2. Nestlé shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged or delayed or electronically corrupt entries for any reason whatsoever.
    3. Nestlé reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.
    4. Nestlé may require the winner to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement to enable Nestlé to ensure compliance with these rules. Should the winner be found not to have complied with these rules, he/she will automatically be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited. Winners may also be required to sign acceptance of prizes and indemnity documents.
    5. The prize/s are not transferable, and no substitution or cash redemption of prizes is permitted. The prize will not be handed/awarded to a third party, but only to the verified prize winner.
    6. Nestlé reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute the prizes with any other prizes of comparable or greater commercial value for whatever reason.
    7. By entering this competition, you authorise Nestlé and the promoter, to collect, store and use (not share) personal information of entrants for communication or statistical purposes. You are entitled to decline any marketing communication by emailing consumer.services@za.nestle.com OR Dial *130*7445*1#. Any personal data submitted by you will be used solely in accordance with current South African data protection legislation and Nestlé’s privacy policy.
    8. The winners or participants may be required to take part in publicity campaigns for broadcast or publishing purposes. Winners or participants shall at all times be entitled to decline the above request. Winners or participants that take part in any publicity will not be entitled to any payment or other remuneration for such publicity or otherwise. All publicity and other materials will be the sole property of the promoter.
    9. The organisers of the competition reserve the right to cancel or postpone the competition at any time. No participant shall have any resource or any claim against Nestlé as a result of: (a) any amendment to these terms and conditions; (b) Nestlé’s cancellation, termination, suspension or postponement of the competition; and/or (c) Nestlé’s inability, despite attempts, in line with these terms and conditions, to reach a participant.
    10. Nestlé reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
    11. Product images depicting the prizes are for illustrative purposes only and may differ from the actual prizes.
